Vanderhall. Debut in Portugal with two roadsters, three wheels and lots of power

Anonim

the american Vanderhall , a still new builder, born in 2010, now arrives in Portugal (and Spain) through Classy Triangle, and brought with him two models: the Carmel and the Venice.

Both with only three wheels — they are homologated as tricycles — these two models are a kind of American version (and much more modern) of the Morgan 3 Wheeler.

The first, the Vanderhall Carmel comes in three versions — Carmel, Carmel GT and Carmel GTS. All of them use a 1.5 l four-cylinder turbo (of GM origin) with 194 hp and 275 Nm, which appears coupled to an automatic transmission with six ratios and whose “mission” is to boost a scant 723 kg.

The Vanderhall Venice is lighter than the Carmel, weighing just 660 kg, and has four versions: Venice Blackjack, Venice, Venice GT and Venice GTS.

In the base version, Blackjack, Venice exchanges the 1.5 turbo for a 1.4 four-cylinder turbo (also from GM) with 175 hp and 254 Nm. In the other versions it uses the same 1.5 l turbo used by Carmel and the transmission is always on charge of a six-speed automatic teller machine.

How much?

Already available in Portugal, Vanderhall Venice and Carmen arrive in our country with a series of changes to better adapt to the reality they will find on the Iberian roads.

These include the radiator with double the cooling area; the water pump with the highest flow rate or the “mandatory” speedometer modification from mph (miles per hour) to km/h (kilometres per hour).

What does the future hold?

Newly arrived in Portugal, Vanderhall's plans for the future are not lacking. One of the models “in the pipeline” is the Vanderhall Edison and, as the name implies, it is the electric version of the compact model of the American brand.

Vanderhall Venice GT

With two front electric motors with 52 kW each (70 hp) and 315 Nm of torque, it meets 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.4s, weighs 635 kg and thanks to a battery with 28.8 kWh of capacity it advertises an autonomy of up to 320 km.

The other model that Vanderhall is preparing is called Brawley and is scheduled to arrive in 2022. Unlike its "brothers" it is not a tricycle, but a vehicle with four wheels (it will be a UTV) and an adventurous look.

Vanderhall Carmel
Aesthetically, there isn't much to separate Carmel from Venice.

Also 100% electric, this one will use four individually controlled electric motors and promises 404 hp and 651 Nm. Equipped with 40 kWh or 60 kWh batteries, the Brawley should offer up to 320 km of autonomy between charges.
