In just three pictures, the brand allowed a preview of what the next generation of Hyundai Veloster will be — the first for almost eight years.
If at first glance the photos now revealed look identical to the previous generation, it is certain that the special focus of the brand's designers was to eliminate some of the Veloster's particularities. For now, the photos revealed do not even allow us to confirm the existence of the third door on the right side, as in the previous generation.
From the outset, the front is more imposing, with a larger grille and a more vertical position, similar to other models of the brand such as the i30. LED headlights and vertical air intakes at the ends of the bumper are also decipherable, as the developed photos still have a colorful but confusing camouflage.
The brand still does not reveal any specifications of the new Hyundai Veloster but everything indicates that it will be equipped with two Turbo engines, one 1.4 liters and the other 1.6 liters. The well-known seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (7DCT) will also be available in both versions, although there will be a manual gearbox.
If the Veloster once did not meet the expected success, or at least hoped for, now in the hands of Albert Biermann – responsible for the development of all BMW M – everything could be different. Proof of this is the fantastic Hyundai i30 N that we have already driven on the Vallelunga circuit in Italy.
As we have already mentioned here, the production of an N version for the Veloster may also be on the table, as the new model has already been picked up in tests at the brand's European Test Center at the Nürburgring.
The new Veloster will have at least three driving modes, of which the sport mode naturally stands out, which will offer better acceleration and faster gear changes with the 7DCT automatic transmission.
