The new Rolls-Royce Phantom will be unveiled at the end of July

There is very little time left for us to meet the successor to the Rolls-Royce Phantom. It will be the eighth generation of a lineage that extends in time, more specifically since 1925. The last Phantom remained in production for 13 years – between 2003 and 2016 – and saw two series and three bodies: saloon, coupé and convertible.

It was a striking model on several levels, notable for being the first Rolls-Royce developed after the acquisition of the British brand by BMW.

Regarding the new generation of Rolls-Royce Phantom, everything will effectively be new. Starting with the platform that will mainly use aluminum in its construction. This platform will be shared with the brand's unprecedented SUV, until now known as the Cullinan project. Hopefully, the new Phantom will stay true to the V12 configuration, although it's not clear whether it will resort to the current 6.75 liter engine (atmospheric), or the Ghost's 6.6 liter engine (supercharged).

Rolls-Royce, in preparation for the arrival of its new flagship, will organize an exhibition in Mayfair, London that will recall the seven generations of Phantom already known. Entitled “The Great Eight Phantoms”, it will bring together a historical copy of each of the Phantom's generations, hand-picked by the stories they have to tell. As the video reveals, the first selected copy will be the Rolls-Royce Phantom I that belonged to Fred Astaire, the famous American dancer, singer, choreographer, actor and television presenter.

The brand will continue to reveal, week by week, a copy of each generation of the Phantom, culminating in the unveiling of the eighth generation of the model, on July 27th.
