Pablo Escobar, in addition to being one of the biggest cocaine dealers of all time, was also a big car fan. He meets the “other” Pablo Esbobar, the car driver.
Colombian Pablo Escobar was responsible for the deaths of approximately 6000 people, 3 presidential candidates, the crash of a commercial plane and the death of one of his lovers (a mere note). Crimes aside, Pablo Escobar was a true petrolhead and even became a pilot – a kind of gentleman driver.
Pablo Escobar's sporting career began in the late 70s and lasted only 4 years. Escobar even participated in some tests of the Copa Renault – also known locally as “Coca Renault” because most of the drivers and sponsors were cocaine dealers.
Among other models, Pablo Escobar raced in a Simca Rally 2 and a Porsche 911 RSR IROC that had once been driven by Emerson Fittipaldi – the first Brazilian to become Formula 1 World Champion. This Porsche was born 911 RSR and later became transformed into a 935, keeping the original mechanics.

No, it wasn't supersports as you might think, but cars that caught his attention – models ranging from the simple Renault 4L to a 1928 Cadillac. Although not confirmed, “it is said” that Pablo Escobar shot the his Cadillac on purpose to resemble what belonged to Al Capone (hat tip: Guilherme Ferradoza). He liked guns there…
