Works by Andy Warhol on tour with Porsche

Anonim

For four months, ten original works by Andy Warhol will travel across Spain and Portugal for an exhibition at the Porsche Centers in the Iberian Peninsula.

Ferry Porsche, father of the mythical 911 and son of brand founder Ferdinand Porsche, can somehow be considered a true artist, a visionary who, not finding the sports car of his dreams on the market… decided to build it. Today, the Porsche 911 is an icon of the automotive world, with a timeless design that remains current more than five decades later.

Like Ferry Porsche, Andy Warhol was a revolutionary creator in his day, starting with his distinction as an advertising designer and later as a visual artist, filmmaker and music producer. And interestingly, automobiles also played an important role in his illustrations.

Along with the silkscreens signed by the “King of Pop Art”, Porsche dealers will also have two very special models to accompany the exhibition. These are a Boxster Spyder and a 911 Turbo S, both fully labeled with works carried out at The Factory, the famous obscure New York pavilion that Warhol has converted into a luminous creative laboratory.

The traveling exhibition, open to all those who want to visit the Porsche facilities, began on March 2nd in Madrid (West) and will now move to the Porsche Center Lisbon, from March 16th to 19th. The exhibition also coincides with the launch of the new Porsche 718 Boxster, which will start shipping on April 30th.
