Direct heir to the first generation Opel GT and the recently introduced Monza Concept, the brand's new sports car presents itself as a futuristic model that does not forget the brand's tradition. In addition to the obvious lack of rear-view mirrors, door handles and windscreen wipers, one of the most obvious innovations is doors with integrated windows with electric controls activated by pressure sensors.
The new Opel GT features a spacious cabin, a wider opening angle door system, an extension of the windscreen to the roof and front headlamps with 3D effect (IntelliLux LED Matrix System), which allow driving at high beams without dazzling the rest. conductors. In terms of powertrains, the Opel GT incorporates a 1.0 Turbo petrol engine with 145 hp and 205 Nm of torque, based on the block used in the Adam, Corsa and Astra. Transmission to the rear wheels is handled by a sequential six-speed gearbox with paddle shift controls on the steering wheel.
Will it be produced? Opel says no – it wasn't for that purpose that the brand developed the GT Concept. However, the truth is that the brand was surprised by the public's reception. Plans can always change… we hope so.
