Replacing red carpets for walks in the mud: this is the proposal of Rolls-Royce, which decided to share some images of its first SUV.

A little over a year and a half after they started the first tests, the Cullinan project (code name) is now beginning to take shape. Without wanting to reveal too much the shapes (especially the rear section) of what will be its first SUV, Rolls-Royce shared a couple of images that anticipate the new model.

Maintaining standards of quality and comfort is a priority for the British brand, and the Rolls-Royce design language will also be present, at least at the forefront. This SUV debuts a platform developed from scratch by Rolls Royce, and uses various components and aluminum body panels, which will be used for the next Phantom.

NOT TO BE MISSED: “Good afternoon, I would like to order 30 Rolls-Royce Phantom”

“This is a very exciting phase in the Cullinan project, both for Rolls-Royce and for our customers who follow us around the world. The combination of the four-wheel drive system with the new “luxury architecture” puts us on the right path to create an authentic Rolls-Royce, just like its predecessors”.

Torsten Müller-Ötvös, CEO of Rolls-Royce

Later in the year, the Cullinan project takes off for the Arctic Circle to undergo a battery of durability and cold traction tests, while tests at higher temperatures will be carried out in mid-2017 in the Middle East. Rolls Royce's first SUV is scheduled for launch in 2018, and in all the brand expects to sell around 1400 units a year.
