On the eve of the Geneva Motor Show, one of the most anticipated pieces of engineering ever was unveiled. The first MEGA car, the Koenigsegg One:1.
We've talked a lot here about the Koenigsegg One:1. It was a long journey of 2 years with predictions, rumors and numbers that many declared to be false or doubtful. Well, dear readers, it is with great pleasure that I introduce you to the Koenigsegg One:1, the most powerful car in the world.
Built to beat all records
If the power-to-weight ratio that gave rise to the model's name (1:1) is not enough to impress, Koenigsegg completely lifts the veil to leave us stunned. It's 1341 horsepower (for 1341 kg) and 1371 nm of maximum torque, delivered to a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox with the services of a rear differential, ready to exorcise Michelin tires made to measure for the Koenigsegg One:1 and that support speeds up to 440 km/h.
The engine, a 5 liter aluminum V8, is prepared to receive gasoline, E85 biofuel and competition fuel, allowing unprecedented performance: from 0 to 400 km/h in 20 seconds and a top speed exceeding 400 km/h, no Koenigsegg also revealed this last value. We don't even know the rest of the measurements yet, but with such brutal acceleration, who's going to waste time counting?
If during acceleration the values are supersonic, in terms of braking power they move into the “overwhelming” category: from 400 to 0 km/h it takes just 10 seconds and the braking distance necessary to immobilize the Koenigsegg One:1 when it is moving at speed. 100 km/h, 28 meters. Numbers that Koenigsegg intends to demonstrate a posteriori, before the Guinness World Records committee.
At the front, 19-inch and 20-inch carbon fiber wheels are mounted at the rear and the brakes came directly from the Agera R (397 mm at the front and 380 mm at the rear) and the weight is distributed at the front with 44% and 56% at the rear, the same recipe applied to Koenigsegg Agera R.
The Koenigsegg One:1 will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show and will be limited to 6 units, which Koenigsegg has revealed are already sold.
One of the questions that Koenigsegg has not yet clarified is whether the ballistic performances announced for the Koenigsegg One:1 are achieved using competition fuel or conventional 98 octane gasoline.
