Before starting this article, I must make it clear that I will not negatively criticize this “creation”. I don't want to take the easy way out… I'll try to convince the most pessimistic that this is a beautiful work of art!
For starters, this project has an extremely prestigious name that quickly pops into your head: Mercedes-Benz CL500 AG Excalibur. Which King Arthur's sword, which one… This one deserves to have as a nickname, the name Excalibur!
Audronis Gestautas is the Lithuanian behind this invention. We don't know what went through his mind to bring such a rarity to life, but it just shows that he doesn't aim to be like everyone else, and just then he deserves our applause. Audronis should be considered the Albert Einstein of tuning: At first a real misunderstood, a few years from now a true genius.
Audronis took a CL500 and turned it from head to toe. In terms of mechanics, the V8 engine remains unchanged, only the brakes and suspension have undergone improvements to be able to deal with the giant and showy wheels of this boy (30 inches at the rear and 24 at the front). But the extravaganza doesn't stop with the rims, even the front and rear emblems are plated in gold, each with 24 carats of gold. The interior is a luxury, and however lack of good taste is criticized, it is impossible not to value the quality of Lithuanian work. Now look:
As you can also see, on the outside, the front grille was clearly inspired by the Maybach Exelero grille, which made me appreciate the Exelero's lines more closely. I soon realized that Excalibur is an attempt to create something very similar to Exelero, but not as expensive. Of course, this is not the right car to take to work every day, let alone go to meet your girlfriend's father. But for those who live tuning, I'm sure this will always be one of the most photographed of the concentrations.
See? It wasn't even difficult to write this article. If by chance you were interested, then get ready because this Excalibur is going to be auctioned on October 31st. You can go here for more information. Let's see if I could convince someone to give around 70 thousand euros for this…
