Founded in 2015 in Dubai, Zarooq is the first brand born in the UAE. A brand focused on super sports and luxury models (of course…). Interestingly, Zarooq's first production model will be a model with…off-road capabilities.
The SandRacer was introduced in prototype form at the end of 2015, and the production version (above) – which adds “500 GT” to the name – will really move forward.
Instead of the 3.5 V6 engine originally planned, Zarooq went all-in and bet on a 6.2 V8 engine with 525 hp and 660 Nm of torque, transmitted to the rear axle through a 5-speed sequential transmission from Weddle – the maximum speed is 220 km/h.
For adventures off asphalt, the Zarooq SandRacer 500 GT has shock absorbers similar to those used by some jeeps on the Dakar (with a stroke of 450 mm), and so that there is no lack of fuel, it uses a tank with 130 liters of capacity.
The bodywork was developed by the preparer Mansory, using carbon fiber, and has a roll-cage inside. According to the brand, the SandRacer 500 GT weighs just 1300 kg.
With its first model, Zarooq will have Monaco and the United Arab Emirates as its main markets. So it's us?
