Christian Gebhardt, from Sport Auto magazine, published a video on youtube where it is possible to see one of the three Porsche 918 Spyder prototypes in tests.
Gebhardt had the privilege of being invited by Porsche to accompany one of the tests of the German hybrid supercar at the test track in Nardo, Italy. In the video we can see the engineers' work in the development of this prototype, but get ready, in the 1:37 minute, you'll have the privilege of observing the most unthinkable scene ever… It has occurred to you that there is a Porsche quieter than the washing machine at home? If yes, then congratulations! This is your Porsche!!!
The 918 Spyder in electric mode is scary, it's okay that we're in the 19th century. XXI and environmental issues are really worrying, but creating a Porsche that makes the same noise as a small battery-operated remote control car is already too much! At least make him make noise…
The hybrid system present on the 918 Spyder has a 3.4-liter gasoline engine capable of delivering 500 horsepower (this one at least has a good tune), which works in conjunction with three electric thrusters responsible for developing 218 hp and enabling a 25 km range. The German brand advertises an average consumption of just 3 liters per 100 (in the first 100 kilometres), CO2 emissions of 70 g/km, a race from 0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and a top speed of over 320 km/h.
Those interested in this super sports will have to shell out around €810,000 and wait until September next year. Despite its annoying silence in electric mode it seems to be a tremendous evolution in the world of supersports.
