Citröen has prepared its new vehicle offensive for the Geneva Motor Show and among them is the new Citröen C5 CrossTourer, with reinforced arguments to meddle in bad ways.
After the 530,000 units sold, Citröen is now preparing a reinforced C5, retaining all its features and bringing together the best of its DNA: the Hydractive III+ hydropneumatic suspension, now combined with the introduction of intelligent traction control.
What sets this Citröen C5 CrossTourer apart from its peers?
With a new expression of design, suitable for all types of roads and with a new profile, marked by the new lower protections for the bumpers in brushed aluminum, chrome mirror covers, roof bars in matte gray finish and the beautiful 18-inch wheels inches of diamond effect, give it a totally different expression.
This Citröen C5 CrossTourer, can have a height from the ground up to 15mm higher up to 70km/h, but only possible for versions with the Hydractive III+ suspension. Therefore, overcoming small obstacles will not be a problem for this C5.
Comfort remains a standard feature of the C5, thanks to the Hydractive III+ hydropneumatic suspension, a technology patented by Citröen and which is now in its best ever version. With real-time body height management, whatever the floor conditions or vehicle load, this hydropneumatic suspension is able to continuously adapt the damping, while managing the necessary firmness for better dynamic handling.
The Citröen C5 CrossTourer maintains 2 levels of ground clearance depending on conditions: 6cm above its normal height for speeds up to 10km/h and 4cm above its normal height for speeds up to 40km/h. At higher speeds, the hydropneumatic suspension lowers the Citröen C5 CrossTourer in order to reduce the aerodynamic coefficient, favoring consumption. For the loading plan, it is also possible to adjust the height of access to the luggage compartment.
Hydropneumatic suspension as standard on the most powerful versions, is also available as an option on the 2 access versions equipped with the 115 horsepower 1.6 HDi block.
Comfort is complemented by electrically adjustable leather seats at the front and a massage function for the driver. Within multimedia entertainment, the Citröen C5 CrossTourer has the eMyWay system, which integrates the navigation system, with a camera for rear vision to facilitate maneuvers.
The Citröen C5 CrossTourer, is offered in 2 levels of equipment (Millenium and Exclusive) and are animated by diesel blocks with powers from 115 to 200 horsepower.
A proposal from Citröen, to rival the competition that increasingly chooses to include in their proposals for family vans, credentials for the off-road, allowing them to go further and, in some cases, provide some adventures.
