Porsche 718: the details of the new four-cylinder boxer engines

According to Autocar, the Boxster and Cayman Porsches, recently christened the 718, will use 2.0 and 2.5 turbo engines.

The Boxster and Cayman are now closer than ever, thanks to the shared 718 name. Aside from the name and platform, there's more in common between the two models. In particular the new four-cylinder turbo engines (codename 9A2B4T).

Porsche has not yet announced the specifications of the two engines that will equip the 718, but according to the British publication Autocar, they are two versions: one with 2 liters of capacity and 300hp of power; and another with 2.4 liters of capacity and 360hp of power.

In the case of the more powerful version, the engine will receive the variable geometry turbo technology (VGT) developed by the brand and applied for the first time in the 911 Turbo (997) in 2005.
