John Deere Sesam: "electrification" has also reached tractors

Anonim

Apparently, the phenomenon of electrification does not only affect light passenger vehicles.

Imagine a silent, zero-emissions tractor capable of performing all the tasks of a normal tractor. In fact, you don't even need to imagine.

The model you see in the images is called John Deere Sesam and is the latest prototype from Deere & Company, one of the largest agricultural equipment production companies in the world. Inspired by the current John Deere 6R, the Sesam is equipped with two 176 hp electric motors of combined power and a set of lithium-ion batteries.

NOT TO BE MISSED: This is why we love cars. And thou?

According to the American brand, the maximum torque available from “zero rotations” makes this prototype a vehicle capable of heavy work, like any other conventional tractor, with the benefit of being much quieter and without pollutant emissions. Unfortunately, the John Deere Sesam is not yet ready to move into production. At this stage, the batteries take three hours to charge and only last four hours in normal use.

John Deere Sesam will be presented at SIMA (not to be confused with SEMA), a show dedicated to agricultural models that will take place in Paris next year. As a teaser to Sesam, Deere & Company shared a video of the new model:
