Volkswagen did not want to be left behind in this race and is well aware of the market that proposals like the Toyota Prius are already a winning formula, as Volkswagen decides to present the greenest proposal of its «best seller», the Volkswagen e-Golf.

The proposal of the electric Volkswagen e-Golf is introduced by a power supply with 116 horsepower and a battery with autonomy for 190km according to the homologation cycle. This electric motor is responsible for moving only the front wheels and has an expressive torque of 270Nm. When it comes to performance, this e-golf fulfills the classic start from 0 to 100km/h in 10.4 seconds and reaches a limited top speed of 140km/h. VW managed to bring the combined weight of the current inverter and electric motor to just 205kg in weight.

Regarding the battery, this Volkswagen e-Golf has a lithium-ion cell with 24.2KWh, which according to VW, at a charging point, the fast charge cycle, up to 80%, is carried out in just 30 minutes, a full charge in a branded household outlet, it's a 10 hour 30 minute task. Batteries are placed under the rear seats, squeezing the trunk's capacity a little, but still leaving a modest 279 liters of capacity.

This Volkswagen e-golf has 2 selectable driving modes, which are limited to the «ECO» mode and the «ECO+» mode, but which has 4 levels of regenerative braking intensity, among which the «D1» mode. «D2», «D3», and «B», the latter being the one that applies the greatest retention, generating more energy recovery.

According to an internal source, Vokkswagen e-Golf can only be purchased in a 5-door configuration and the equipment will be similar to the bluemotion level, with a navigation system, automatic climatronic, but with the extra total lighting in LED.
