The Ingolstadt brand has just presented the first images of the new Audi A5 Cabriolet. Can you recognize the promotional video road?
The Audi A5 Cabriolet is the latest member of the renewed A5 family, joining the Coupé (which we've already driven here) and Sportback versions.A model that will be presented publicly at the Salon in Los Angeles, but before embarking on the way to the USA, it stopped in Portugal, namely in the magnificent Serra da Arrábida, Setúbal, to capture some images.
Remember that the new Audi A5 Cabriolet uses the MLB platform (the same as the Q7 and the new A4) . Thanks to this platform, the new German Cabriolet achieves greater structural rigidity and weighs 40kg less than its predecessor. As for proportions, despite being lighter, the new model grows in length to 4,673 mm (plus 47 mm) and in the wheelbase to 2,760 mm (plus 14 mm). These values will naturally have an impact on the habitability and capacity of the suitcase.
As for the hood, the new electric drive system allows the hood to be retracted in just 15 seconds, up to a maximum speed of 50 km/h.
In terms of engines, the engines we already know from the rest of the Audi A5 family are repeated: 2.0 TDI diesel engines with 190 hp or V6 3.0 TDI with 218 hp, in addition to the 2.0 TFSI gasoline options with 252 hp and a 3.0 TFSI V6 354 hp (S5 Cabriolet). Later will arrive the 2.0 TFSI 190 hp and V6 3.0 TDI 286 hp engines.
