The DS E-Tense promised to be just one more influence on the future DS design language, but it could be much more than that.
Since presenting the DS E-Tense at the Geneva Motor Show, the brand has been nurturing the idea of moving towards the production of this model. DS has exhibited its prototype several times on the streets of Paris and Madrid, and the sports car has even won an elegance competition that brought together eight concept cars. According to Autocar, the PSA Group handed in a patent this week for the DS E-Tense name , which gives even more strength to the rumors that pointed to the production of this French sports car.RELATED: Citroën Cxperience Concept: a taste of the future
Remember that the prototype unveiled in Geneva was equipped with an electric motor with 402hp of power and 516Nm of maximum torque, powered by lithium ion batteries integrated in the chassis base, built in carbon fiber. The brand announced accelerations from 0-100 km/h in 4 seconds, a top speed of 250km/h and a range of 310 km in mixed environments.
If it goes ahead, the production of the DS E-Tense should happen at best in 2019, because the biggest priority for the brand at the moment is the launch of its first SUV.
