Another test of the national rally championship, this time with the home city as a backdrop. A rally full of spectacle and even with some surprises in between.
Pedro Meireles, a pilot who competes aboard a Skoda Fabia S2000, proved once again that walking on a razor's edge can pay off. The Skoda driver took the victory by such a slim margin of 0.3s. A result that reveals, in part, the emotions of this rally in Guimarães lands.
With such a small margin, who should have had a bitter taste in the mouth was Ricardo Moura, second-placed. He missed the victory by a margin of 0.3s. Remember that Meireles had already won the first competition of the championship, in Fafe, by a difference of just 1.3s.
Pedro Meireles even entered this rally less well, with differences reaching 3.1s, but determination was stronger. The place of honor on the podium went to Ricardo Barros with the Ford Fiesta R5 to finish the race in 3rd place, with a difference of 26.4s over Pedro Meireles.

The worst luck of this rally Cidade de Guimarães, was left to José Pedro Fontes, after leading the first 3 qualifying, with his Porsche 997 GT, a loss caused everything to lose. Thus, what would be a practically certain victory was mortgaged, after a difference of 25.1s, which was far from the second placed, João Barros.
