If it's an auction day for luxury sports cars, then it's a day to open the purse strings. And so says the new owner of this Ferrari 250 GT «Tour de France»
The Canadian auction house managed to move more than 18.5 million euros, on a day when the king of kings was a Ferrari 250 GT LWB Berlinetta «Tour de France» from 1959, which was sold to an Italian for nothing more, nothing less than 2.4 million euros. Mamma mia!!
This beautiful example with chassis nº 1335GT and body manufactured by Scaglietti, was the sixth of twelve cars built in 1959, and it is one of nine manufactured with uncovered headlights. In other words, a real rarity… The designation “Tour de France” is due to the victory of one of the first 250 GT Berlinettas in the “Tour de France” in 1956.
