An excellent proposal for all those who enjoy adventure and outdoor activities.
Since the launch of Volkswagen Amarok, the segment of pick-ups has never been the same. It fell to the German brand, the honor of bringing to this segment levels of safety, construction quality and comfort never seen before in this type of vehicle. Even so, after having shaken the waters of the segment, and having given a colossal beating to Japanese rivals – read Mitsubishi L200, Toyota Hilux and company – Volkswagen wants to diversify the model, and the first spin-off of the original concept was presented yesterday in Geneva under the name Canyon.
Presented as a concept, this Amarok has the particularity of being even more suited to off-road incursions than its “normal” sister. This is thanks to a kit with 40mm higher suspensions and tires with greater off-road traction capacity. The remaining changes are purely aesthetic and are only intended to reinforce the adventurous appeal of this proposal, as is the case with the supplementary light kit, the “canoe holder” or the retractable entry step. Inside, only the upholstery is different, assuming two tones and various inscriptions alluding to the model.
Under the hood all the same, the small but willful 2.0 TDI bi-turbo 178hp and 400NM. As it should be, the 4-MOTION system is a mandatory presence, or we wouldn't have been talking about an all-terrain vehicle…
