Honda Civic Concept: More provocative than ever

Anonim

Honda officially unveiled the new Civic Concept in Geneva. A model marked by sporty lines.

Upon entry to the Swiss event, the Japanese brand promised a prototype of sharp claws. And so it was. The 5-door hatchback comes with a more muscular look and a “dynamic and provocative” design – see image gallery.

The Civic Concept gained 30mm in width, 130mm in length and is 20mm shorter than the current model. Plus, it benefits from wider tires, larger wheels, larger air intakes and redesigned LED lights. Remove the typical excesses of the concept and get a very approximate idea of the production version.

The 10th generation Honda Civic will feature 3 different engines: two i-VTEC gasoline engines – 1.0L 3-cylinder and 1.5L 4-cylinder – and a 1.6 i-DTEC diesel block, where increases in power and efficiency are expected. . Honda will also offer a 6-speed manual transmission.

“We had to create an impressive design that could compete with European compacts but at the same time respect the values of the original Civic. The result was a marriage between sporty design, driving dynamics and practicality”, said Daisuke Tsutamori, responsible for the project. The brand guarantees that we will get to know the production version soon – it remains to be seen whether it will maintain the audacity and aggressiveness of the prototype presented in Geneva. The new Honda Civic is expected to reach European dealers early next year.
