Bugatti Chiron: more powerful, more luxurious and more exclusive

It's official. The successor to the Bugatti Veyron will even be called Chiron and will be presented at the Geneva Motor Show in March of next year.

There has been speculation for many months about the replacement of the Bugatti Veyron, but now the official confirmation has arrived: the name will actually be Chiron (in the highlighted image is the Vision Gran Turismo concept).

A name that comes in honor of Louis Chiron, a Monegasque driver linked to the French brand in the 20s and 30s. This was the way that Bugatti managed to honor and keep alive the name of what the brand considers to be “the best driver in its history ”.

At this moment, the super sports car is in the final phase of a rigorous set of tests, which will allow the evaluation of the car's performance on different floors and atmospheric conditions. This set of tests never seen before in cars in this segment “is essential for the Chiron to perform significantly better than its predecessor”, guarantees Wolfgang Dürheimer, president of Bugatti.

The technical characteristics have not yet been confirmed, but an 8.0 liter W16 quad-turbo engine with 1500hp and 1500Nm of maximum torque is planned. As you can guess, the accelerations will be breathtaking: 2.3 seconds from 0 to 100km/h (0.1 seconds off the world record!) and 15 seconds from 0 to 300km/h. So fast that Bugatti plans to put a graduated speedometer up to 500km/h…

According to the latest information, the Bugatti Chiron will already have around 100 pre-orders, of which it is described as the “most powerful, fastest, most luxurious and exclusive car in the world”. The presentation is scheduled for the next Geneva Motor Show, but the launch is only scheduled for 2018.
