Lazzarini Design, an Italian design company, got tired of seeing the constant vulgarization of the Fiat 500 and decided to give life (at least on paper) to the most powerful 500 ever, the 550 Italia!

Yes, you're right… The Italia name really has to do with the Ferrari 458. The designers responsible for this project went from eight to eighty and put the engine of the Ferrari 458 Italia in the modest 500, a 4.5 V8 with 570 hp. However, the name 570 Italia should not be to their liking, so they made some modifications to the engine and limited power to 550 hp.

As you can see in the images, the exterior look was also adapted to all this Italian madness, in order to guarantee a better performance in terms of aerodynamics.
