New MG 5 2013 unveiled [First images]

After the MG5 concept was presented last year, Morris Garage has just released the first images of its new hatchback.

The MG5 is already on sale in China, but we Europeans will have to wait another year and a half before we can acquire it. But don't think that the Chinese are being privileged, on the contrary, they are serving as guinea pigs for the new MG 5 to arrive in Europe without any kind of technical problem.

Despite not having such a “extravagant” design as the MG5 concept, the MG5 production model has the most beautiful lines of the entire MG range, there is no doubt about that. Inspired by the MG6 and MG3, this new hatchback features a not shy front panel ready to convince the most undecided of the undecided at the time of all decisions. Believe me, if you don't take it home, it's going to be hard to forget about those aggressive and distinctive headlights.

The new bet of the English brand, has a 1.8 engine with only 105 hp (strange). Apparently, in China, the compact and medium models use 1.5 blocks because of tax incentives, and maybe because of that, this one has a naive 105 hp…

But rest assured, for Europe the story will be different. Although not confirmed yet, it is quite likely that there will be a few more versions between 1.0 and 1.5 (with powers from 115 hp to 162 hp). There will also be at least one diesel engine.
