Gymkhana without Ken Block? No problem! Ford Mustang Mach-E 1400 skids in Faroe Islands

With the departure of Ken Block for Audi, the responsibility for putting Ford cars to "walk aside" fell to Vaughn Gittin Jr., who did not hesitate and has already given us a video of the Mustang Mach-E 1400 to “burn a tire” with the beautiful landscapes of the Faroe Islands as a backdrop.

This video, which Ford dubs “Free Rein”, begins with a peaceful ride of the Mustang Mach-E 1400 through the city, until Gittin Jr. decides to pick up the pace and show us what this electric «monster» is capable of. .

On roads, obviously closed for the purpose, the North American pilot offers us a spectacular combination of landscapes, action and speed, with some more comical touches in between.

Seven electric motors and 1419 hp

The «weapon» chosen for this adventure across the North Atlantic was the radical Mustang Mach-E 1400, a prototype developed by Ford and RTR Vehicles to show the performance potential that electric vehicles can have.

In total there are seven electric motors — three mounted on the front differential and four on the rear differential — feeding this “Pony” with electrons, which reaches a maximum speed of 257 km/h.

The imposing aerodynamic package doesn't just have visual responsibilities. All the elements that make it up are capable of generating more than 1000 kg of down force, a number almost as impressive as the model's total power: 1419 hp.

It's hard to forget about Ken Block and his famous Gymkhanas, but this first attempt by Vaughn Gittin Jr. didn't disappoint. Right?
