Formula 1: Rosberg wins the Austrian GP

Mercedes' hegemony extended to the Austrian GP. Nico Rosberg won again and extends the lead in the Formula 1 World Championship.

Once again, Mercedes dictated the rules during a Formula 1 weekend. They failed to pole-position, but they did not fail to win. Nico Rosberg won the Austrian Formula 1 Grand Prix, even though Williams occupied the front row of the grid and where it looked like everything was shaping up for a historic victory for the English brand. Rosberg moved to the front at the first pit stop, and from that point onwards the advantage was increased.

Second, finished Lewis Hamilton. The English driver managed to pass Valtteri Bottas in the tire change and even tried to catch up with his teammate, in the dispute for first place without success.

The biggest loser turned out to be Felipe Massa, who, starting from the first position on the grid, finished the race in 4th place. The Brazilian driver was the main victim of the pit stops. Better luck had his teammate, Valtteri Bottas, who had a brilliant weekend: he finished in 3rd place and barely managed to get pole-position.

In 5th place finished Fernando Alonso, seconded by an inspired Sergio Pérez, who finished in an excellent 6th place at the controls of the Force India single-seater. Kimmi Raikkonen closed the Top 10, complaining about engine problems in his Ferrari.
