A straight line was never the “in life” goal of these two — quite the contrary… But for now, that's what we have. Carwow has joined the already revered Toyota GR Yaris and the legend Mitsubishi Evolution VI Tommi Mäkinen Edition , for a friendly drag race.
It is the meeting of two machines that, despite their different origins and specifications, end up having more in common than we would imagine. Like the connection they both have with Tommi Mäkinen, the driver who won four world championships in the WRC (1996-1999).
All championships won by Mäkinen went to the controls of a Mitsubishi Evolution. And the GR Yaris also owes much of its existence to the driver who, since 2016, has been leading the destinies of Toyota's official WRC team, Toyota Gazoo Racing.
This is because it was his team, Tommi Mäkinen Racing, one of the main responsible for the GR Yaris being fantastic as it is. It was they who defined the goals that this diabolic machine would have to achieve.
