Strosek 911 Mega reinvented to celebrate 30 years of the original

Strosek was known in the past, above all, for its modifications to Porsche models and the Mega Speedster, based on the 911 (generation 964) is perhaps the best known of all.

Their interpretation of the classic Porsche 911 front, exchanging large circular headlamps for much smaller ones, even today, 30 years later, divide opinions and do not generate consensus: either you like it or you hate it.

By way of celebration, Strosek Auto Design presented a new 911 Mega , still based on the 964 generation, but now as a coupé and not a speedster like the original.

The new Strosek 911 Mega 30 Year Anniversary Model will be limited to just 30 units and, like the original, sees its bodywork being substantially modified, even though they resisted applying the mini-headlights of the original Mega Speedster (with LED technology from today, it would even be easier to do).

The modifications include new LED headlights, a new front bumper with new LED turn signals (os), a new rear bumper that can be adapted to have one or two exhaust outlets, new front and rear fenders, more wide and with integrated side skirts, new mirrors, new rear spoiler and respective support and also a new hood with integrated rear wing. A large fixed rear wing is also available as an option.

The bodywork modifications are complemented with new wheels, comprising 19-inch wheels with a design evoking those of the original 911 Mega Speedster and surrounded by Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires (245/30 at the front and 295/25 at the rear). At the chassis level, the installation of KW V3 coilovers and stabilizer bars by H&R should also be highlighted.

The eternal six-cylinder boxer was likewise given an elixir of youth, with owners being able to choose between different levels of power, ranging from 300 hp to 450 hp. Changes range from a new intake and exhaust, to a new crankshaft, passing through the inevitable reprogramming. The original gearbox can also be exchanged for a new one, with six speeds.

The interior has not been overlooked either. The Strosek 911 Mega gets new Recaro seats, Alcantara and leather upholstery, carbon fiber panels, a Momo steering wheel and a roll cage.

As is usual in this type of projects, if the customer wants a more exclusive interior, Strosek is receptive to these requests, even if it will weigh more on the final bill, which is estimated to start at 300,000 euros.
