Perfection? This «restomod» of the Giulia GT Junior has the V6 of the new Giulia GTA

In recent times restomod can even be, for the most part, dedicated to electrifying classic models. However, not only electrification is the "rebirth" of classics and the GT Super Totem is proof of that.

After about a year having created a kind of Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA with electrons, substantially modifying an Alfa Romeo Giulia GT Junior 1300/1600, Totem Automobili returned to the charge with the same model, but this time it changed the electrons for the octane, using the engine… of the new Giulia GTA!

The Totem GT Super is presented with the Giulia GTA's 2.9 l twin-turbo V6 and offers three power levels depending on the preparation level: 560 hp (552 bhp), 575 hp (567 bhp) and 620 hp (612 bhp). that in this case the torque is 789 Nm. For comparison purposes, we remind you that the GT Electric offers 525 hp (518 bhp) and 940 Nm.

As for the transmission of torque to the rear wheels, this is ensured by an automatic ZF gearbox, the same used in the Giulia GTA. Finally, in terms of performance, the electric version only needs 2.9s to reach 100 km/h, while the combustion engine variant takes a little longer, 3.2s.

the same but so different

Despite the obvious difference between the mechanics that animate GT Super and GT Electric, Totem Automobili says that they are otherwise identical. That is to say, in everything but mass, as the combustion engine version is 150 kg lighter, at a modest 1140 kg.

As for everything else, the Italian company effectively applied the same recipe. It reinforced the chassis, offered it a suspension of overlapping wishbones and carbon fiber panels. In the aesthetic field, we have the same mixture of modernity and classicism that we already knew from GT Electric.

Also limited to 20 units, the Totem GT Super will cost 460 thousand euros, a value higher than the order by GT Electric. Does the sound of the V6 justify the additional 30,000 euros? Or did you opt for the electric version before? Leave your opinion in the comments.
