Cold Start. Electric G-Class? MWM Spartan is the "low cost" alternative

While the Mercedes-Benz G-Class Electric is not enough, the Czechs from MW Motors decided to go ahead of the German giant and revealed their own electric jeep, the MWM Spartan , a conversion of the successful UAZ Hunter, a Russian jeep launched in 1971 and which has sold more than two million units in 80 countries.

Visually, the Spartan only distinguishes itself from the Hunter thanks to the closed grille with vertical bars (which don't hide the inspiration in the Jeep ones). Inside, the innovations consist in the adoption of a digital screen instead of the traditional instrument panel.

Animating the MWM Spartan is an electric motor with 120 kW (163 hp) and 600 Nm that are sent to the four wheels through the same manual gearbox with five relations that equips the UAZ Hunter (a solution already used in the conversion of the Citroën DS and in the Opel Manta GSe ElektroMOD).

Powering the engine is a lithium-ion battery with 62.16 kWh, stored in a waterproof case that offers 150 km of autonomy.

For those who travel more kilometers at once there is an optional battery with 90 kWh. With a top speed of 130 km/h, this Russian/Czech electric jeep costs €39,900.
