Master of disguise? This Peugeot 205 hides a Porsche Boxster

It looks like one, but what we're looking at isn't a Peugeot 205. Beneath the modified bodywork — reminiscent of the “monster” 205 T16 — hides the most unlikely of vehicles: a Porsche Boxster 2.7 from the year 2000.

This bizarre creature has been for sale on ebay — the auction has now ended with the highest bid of 7,100 pounds (just over 8,300 euros) — and is now in Chapel-en-le-frith, UK.

What prompted its creator to cross a 205 with a Boxster we may never know, but we have to admit the results are intriguing.

As far as we can see, the starting point for this creation was actually a Porsche Boxster, to which the body of a Peugeot 205 was coupled with a Monte Carlo body-kit that makes it wider and more similar to the T16. In other words, underneath the bodywork of the French model is the chassis and driveline of the German model.

This means that this… Peugeot 205 is equipped with an atmospheric 2.7 l opposite six-cylinder boxer engine in a central rear position. There are 220 hp of power transmitted to the rear wheels through the Boxster's five-speed manual gearbox. Suspension, brakes and steering also come directly from the roadster, and even its wiring was not lacking (allows you to keep the ABS, traction control and even cruise control working (!)).

The seller says the engine received a throttle butterfly from a 911 and a new intake system tube. The catalytic-free exhaust system is also specific to this bizarre rolling object.

Access to the interior is made difficult by the presence of a roll cage, but we quickly forgot about it when we realized that the dashboard and center console were also inherited from the German model, although there was a need to cut it in parts to fit it inside more small of the 205.
