The first Breadvan (literally, the bread van), under its full name Ferrari 250 GT SWB Breadvan, was created in 1962 by Giotto Bizzarrini to compete with the then-new Ferrari 250 GTO in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. “Reborn” now based on a Ferrari 550 Maranello.

It's true, about 60 years after the birth of the 250 GT SWB Breadvan, Niels van Roij Design decided to pay homage to such an intriguing proposal, creating for that a “modern” variant of the iconic model.

To do so, he “took” a Ferrari 550 Maranello and transformed it. Originally announced in 2019, however, this one-off has only now seen the light of day.

Inside, this Ferrari 550 Maranello received new retro-style dials, Alcantara finishes and an aluminum gearshift grip. In addition, this very special 550 Maranello received 20” wheels, Vredestein tires and adjustable shock absorbers from Koni.

On the outside, only the front window of the Ferrari 550 Maranello was retained. In terms of mechanics, this “Breadvan Hommage” remained faithful to the V12 with 5.5 l that delivers 485 hp and 568 Nm.

As for the price, the asking price for this homage to the Ferrari 250 GT SWB Breadvan remains to be seen. However, given the fact that this is a one-off, and the depth of the transformation, it shouldn't be especially affordable.
