Two years after its presentation, in 2019, the Tesla Model Y it is finally getting ready to arrive in Europe, with the first deliveries to Portugal scheduled for next August.
The Model Y is the second crossover of the American brand and derives directly from the Model 3, although its profile refers to the “great” Model X. Still, it doesn't come with the spectacular “hawk” doors.
Inside, more similarities to the Model 3, starting with the 15” central touchscreen. However, and of course, the driving position is slightly higher.
In addition to being available in five exterior colors (standard white paint; black, gray and blue cost 1200 euros; multilayer red costs 2300 euros), the Model Y comes with 19” Gemini wheels (you can mount 20” Induction wheels for 2300 euros) and with a completely black interior, although optionally it can receive white seats for an additional 1200 euros.
Available in Portugal only with a configuration of two electric motors and therefore all-wheel drive, the Tesla Model Y is available in Long Range and Performance versions.
In the Long Range variant, the two electric motors produce the equivalent of 351 hp (258 kW) and are powered by a battery with 75 kWh of useful capacity.
In this version, the Model Y has an estimated range of 505 km and is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.1s. The maximum speed is fixed at 217 km/h.
The Performance version, on the other hand, maintains a 75 kWh battery and two electric motors, but delivers a maximum power of 480 hp (353 kW), which allows it to reduce the acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h to just 3.7s. reach a maximum speed of 241 km/h.
Performance version only in early 2022
The more powerful and sporty version of the Model Y, the Performance, will only start to reach Portuguese customers early next year and comes as standard with 21” Überturbine wheels, improved brakes, lowered suspension and aluminum pedals .
In any of the versions available in our country, the “Improved Autopilot” — costs 3800 euros — has autopilot, automatic lane change, automatic parking and the Smart Summon system, which allows you to “call” the Model Y remotely.
Prices
Both versions of the Tesla Model Y can now be purchased on Tesla's Portuguese website and have prices starting at 65,000 euros for the Long Range and 71,000 euros for the Performance.
