This year, for the first time, there is a Portuguese among the judges in the German Car Of The Year (GCOTY), one of the most relevant awards in the automobile industry in Europe, in what is the largest European market.
Guilherme Costa, director of Razão Automóvel, who cumulatively assumes the position of director of the World Car Awards, is one of the three international judges invited by the GCOTY board to join the panel that will choose Car of the Year 2022 in Germany.
Over the next few days, Guilherme Costa will join 20 German journalists — representing the most important titles in the specialty in Germany — to evaluate the five finalists in the competition that will culminate in the election of Car of the Year 2022 in Germany. The winner will be announced on the 25th of November.

The five finalists, however, were already known. They are the winners of each of the other categories taken to votes in the GCOTY: Compact (less than 25 thousand euros), Premium (less than 50 thousand euros), Luxury (more than 50 thousand euros), New Energy and Performance.

From this handful of winners, the next Car of the Year in Germany will come out.
