We saw Toyota present in Brussels, at the 2021 Kenshiki Forum, a sportier version of the Yaris, called the Yaris GR Sport, which profiles (for now) immediately below the «almighty» GR Yaris.
Available in the new (and exclusive) Dynamic Grey exterior color, the Yaris GR Sport features a new mesh pattern front grille and exclusive 18-inch wheels with red accents.
At the rear, the new “T”-shaped air diffuser stands out, which also helps to increase the road presence of this model.
Moving towards the interior, the emphasis on sportiness continues, with emphasis on the Gazoo Racing logos on the steering wheel, on the seat headrests, on the engine ignition button and on the instrument panel.
The seats feature a new fabric finish with red stitching that extends to the steering wheel and gearshift selector.
In addition, the door panels, console and steering wheel are finished in bronze, an exclusive feature of this version of the Yaris.
But despite the sportier character, inside and out, there are no changes to register in the engines that serve as the basis for this version, which is available with a 1.5 liter hybrid engine or with a 1.5 liter gasoline engine equipped with an Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT).
What else has changed?
There are no new mechanics, but in terms of suspension, the Yaris GR Sport comes with its own setting.Starting with the dampers, these have been optimized so that at low speeds they can react more quickly and thus provide a better response while driving.
At the rear, springs have been optimized to suppress body roll or wheel lift during acceleration and braking, and additional tie rods have been added to increase body rigidity and stability.
When arrives?
