In this video, Diogo Teixeira went to Amsterdam to meet the new Kauai Hybrid, this after having already known the Kauai with a heat engine and, of course, the 100% electric version of the Korean crossover, the Kauai Electric.

Powered by a 1.56kWh lithium-ion polymer battery, the Kauai Hybrid “houses” a gasoline engine, the 105hp, 147Nm 1.6 GDI with a 43.5hp (32kW) electric motor and 170 Nm, obtaining as a final result 141 hp and 265 Nm. The transmission is in charge of a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox that transfers power to the front wheels.

In terms of performance, the Kauai Hybrid delivers 0 to 100 km/h in 11.2s (11.6s if we opt for 18″ wheels) and announces fuel consumption of 3.9 l/100 km (4.3 l/100 km with 18” wheels, this is still in line with the NEDC cycle, however, in the video Diogo shows you that real fuel consumption doesn't scare anyone, having achieved averages of 5.5 l/100 km.
