The A23, a highway that crosses the districts of Guarda, Castelo Branco, Portalegre and Santarém, connecting Torres Novas (A 1) to Guarda (A 25) – for a total length of 217 km – will suffer a reduction in toll prices from this point onwards. summer.

The promise of the executive led by António Costa came through the voice of the minister of Planning and Infrastructure, Pedro Marques, who assured this Tuesday that the decision only depends on renegotiation with the A23 concessionaires. A process that Pedro Marques admits has associated costs but which, according to the Government, will favor mobility within the country.

With a length of 217 km, the A23 is the 4th largest motorway in the country and is considered a structuring element in the Portuguese road network, as it is the fastest connection to the Vilar Formoso border from Lisbon.
