It was 30 years ago, in 1991, that Hennessey Performance was born. To celebrate, the North American builder and construction company decided to equip the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 “The Exorcist” with a special “look”, in an “Anniversary Edition” limited to 30 units.
This version is distinguished by the specific “30th Anniversary” logo placed behind the front wheels and by a numbered chassis plate.
Besides, it's still the Camaro ZL1 “The Exorcist” we already knew, created a few years ago in response to a certain Dodge Demon — the name is starting to make more sense, isn't it?
That is, despite being a special version, the numbers that accompany it have not changed.
Under the hood houses the same V8 Supercharged block that we found in the Camaro ZL1, with 6.2 litres, but here pumping out a huge 1014 hp and almost 1200 Nm of torque. This limited edition can be ordered with a six-speed manual transmission or a 10-speed automatic, as well as in Coupé or Convertible bodywork.
According to John Hennessey, Founder and CEO of Henenssey, "The Exorcist is the pinnacle of American Muscle Cars and has a starting performance capable of putting just about any other car on the planet to shame." He adds that “since 1991 we've been producing very fast cars and this special 30th anniversary version brings together everything we know in one ferocious “supercar destroyer”.
Hennessey Performance's “The Exorcist” is really very fast, sprinting from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 2.1s, and the traditional quarter mile in an impressive 9.57s, being heralded with a top speed of 349 km/h.
How much does it cost?
Each one of these 30 “exorcists” will cost 135,000 US dollars, the equivalent of approximately 114,000 euros. For those interested in Europe, if the Chevrolet Camaro is not officially marketed here, although it is possible to import it, it will be more difficult to get one of these Hennessey “The Exorcist” Anniversary Edition.
