The world of engine swaps (or engine swaps) has practically no limits. From a Ferrari equipped with the 2JZ-GTE to a Toyota Supra A90 that rejected the “heart” of its ancestors, you'll find a little bit of everything, like, for example, this Volkswagen Beetle that we told you today that you got the engine from a… Subaru.
Created by a fan of the famous “Beetle” named Adonis (we don't know his nickname), the project for this Beetle took ten years to complete. The idea came to him after having tried a Beetle equipped with a Subaru engine, and from that moment he decided that he would have to create your own “Beetlaru”.
Of course, the original air-cooled boxer engine gave way to another boxer engine, but of Japanese origin. The chosen one was the EJ20 from Subaru with 2.0 l that after receiving a new turbo, new 1000 cm3 injectors, new exhaust and some retouching at the level of the intake passed, according to Adonis, to debit about… 382 hp!
a complete work
If the engine change was the first (big) step of the transformation, the other improvements that the Beetle underwent were not far behind. It's just as important as accelerating is braking, and knowing that, Adonis installed brake discs from BMW at the front and at the rear (perhaps trying to maintain the originality) he mounted Volkswagen discs.

As for the suspension, the Adonis Beetle received springs made on purpose for it both at the front and at the rear and also a drift handbrake. As for the interior of this authentic Super Beetle, it now has sport seats, roll cage and air intakes designed to cool the intercooler, which are integrated in the rear window.
Here is the new "heart" of the Beetle.
Finally, in the aesthetics chapter, Adonis combined form with function and equipped the Beetle with a huge rear wing (which he claims helps in drag races), BBS wheels with semi-slick tires and even a front spoiler, all to give it a feel. sportier look and help whenever this very special “Beetle” makes use of the power offered by the EJ20.
