Cold Start. What country do the best video game drivers come from?

Anonim

After many of us in 2020 had (probably) driven longer on virtual roads than real ones, the Pentagon Motor Group U.K. decided to find out which country the best video game drivers come from.

The analysis was based on data present on the speedrun.com website and the achievements recorded there in 801 driving videogames. The first place received 10 points, the second 5 points and the third 3 points.

The total points added up by each country were then calculated per capita to reach the final ranking (overall and for specific games/series). That said, first place overall went to Finland (it seems they are good drivers everywhere), second to Estonia and third to New Zealand. Portugal does not appear in the Top 15.

The performances in five games were also analyzed individually — “Mario Kart”; “Gran Turismo”; “F1”; “Simpson's: Hit and Run” and “Grand Theft Auto”—with the best video game drivers varying depending on the tastes of gamers in certain countries.

For example, in “Mario Kart” the Dutch lead; in “Gran Turismo” the USA dominates; in “F1” Japan; in “Simpson's: Hit and Run” the Finns and in “Grand Theft Auto” the Estonians.
