The Portuguese Speed Open by Michelin returned to the tracks this weekend at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve (AIA) with the first Super Racing Weekend of 2020 and the Porsche Taycan Turbo was one of the highlights.

Selected as “Official Leading Car”, the Porsche Taycan Turbo presented itself with its 680 hp to fulfill a very simple mission: to lead the various races of the Super Racing Weekend in Portimão.

In other words, the Porsche model performed “Safety Car” functions, thus opening the doors to the use of electric models in a function usually given to powerful models with gasoline engines.

According to a statement released by FPAK, the fact that the Taycan Turbo was the “Official Leading Car” of the Super Weekend of Portimão makes “clear that environmental concerns are part of the agenda of motor racing in Portugal”.
