With a second place in the eighth race of the FIA Formula E Championship, António Félix da Costa is the new FIA Formula E champion.
If you remember, the Portuguese driver arrived in Berlin at the top of the championship and with this second place he achieved a historic title in national motorsport.
In just three races held in Berlin, Félix da Costa extended an advantage of 11 points to 68, having in the fourth race, held today, managed to “stamping” the title.
The race
Starting from second on the grid, António Félix da Costa managed to manage the race finishing second behind his teammate at DS Techeetah, Jean Eric Vergne.

In addition to having seen António Félix da Costa become champion of drivers, DS Techeetah is also champion of teams in a season full of successes.
Regarding this title, António Félix da Costa stated: “The World title is ours. There are no words, we arrived here in Berlin ahead of the championship and we did everything as we should. We are World Champions, I'm not in me yet, I've worked for this all my life, I've had difficult moments in my career but without a doubt it was worth it”.
