Cold Start. In Japan, the Suzuki Jimny has the right to a museum just for him

Anonim

After the (sad) news that the Suzuki Jimmy will no longer be marketed in Europe this year due to CO2 emission bills, we “stumbled” on this monument dedicated to its history.

It opened its doors in August 2018, in the town of Yoda (nothing to do with the Jedi master), Fujisawa, and concentrates on its 660 m2 and two floors, the entire history of the Jimny told with many models on display, from the first generation to the current. And without forgetting the model that gave rise to the first Jimny, the rare HopeStar Type ON 4WD.

Interestingly, this museum is not Suzuki's. It's the work of a man, Shigeru Onoue (72), a huge fan of the small all-terrain — he bought his first Jimny in 1981 — and also the owner of Apio, a company dedicated to creating accessories for — guess what? — the Suzuki Jimny.

Japan is very far away, so we left a small movie that lets us see a little of what we can find there, and the only thing is, unfortunately, it doesn't have subtitles (it's in Japanese).
