Launched in 2017, the current generation of Mazda CX-5 it is the Japanese manufacturer's best-selling model globally and its importance in Europe is equally significant: 21% of all Mazdas sold are CX-5s.
In order to keep it “fresh” on the market, Mazda has once again updated its SUV, before a new generation is known in late 2022 or early 2023.
This time, this update brought aesthetic novelties, highlighting the front grille, with a more three-dimensional and creased appearance, and the redesigned LED headlights. Also behind, the optics have adopted a new style and finally there is a new body color, Zircon Sand.
In addition to aesthetic novelties, Mazda promises gains in driving comfort and soundproofing, resulting in lower levels of fatigue.
restructured range
The range has also been restructured, with new names for the equipment levels: Newground, Homura and High+.
The Newground level is distinguished by silver styling elements in the lower areas of the front and rear bumpers and door trims, black exterior mirrors, lime green elements in the front grille and 19” alloy wheels in machined black . The interior combines suede upholstery with lime green stitching, a color also present in the air conditioning vents.
The Homura level adds a gloss black finish to the front grille, signature wing, lower bumper sections, wheel arches, door trims and exterior mirrors. The 19″ alloy wheels are in metallic black, and we have red accents on the front grille. Also in red are the seams on the black leather seats, steering wheel, gearshift lever and door panels.
The High+ level is distinguished by uniform exterior color and the 19″ alloy wheels are silver. The interior is distinguished by Nappa leather and genuine wood grain textures.
Common to every Mazda CX-5 2022 is the presence of a new system Mi-Drive (Mazda Intelligent Drive) which allows the selection of multiple driving modes. In the versions with all-wheel drive they also have “off road” mode. Also inside, there is now a dedicated area in the center console that allows wireless charging of smartphones.
The Mazda CX-5's i-Activsense safety equipment package will also include, from 2022, Cruising & Traffic Support (CTS) technology. It assists the driver in accelerating, braking and changing direction in traffic jams.
