Cold Start. Bentley Bentayga loses 24 kg on 22" carbon fiber wheels

all in Bentley Bentayga tends to be large and the new 22″ wheels unveiled by Mulliner are no exception, which have the special feature of being in carbon fiber, the largest ever produced in this material.

After five years in development, Mulliner, in partnership with experts at Bucci Composites, has managed to make each new carbon fiber rim weigh 6 kg less than an aluminum wheel — in all, 24 kg less in unsprung masses.

They were also the first wheels made of carbon fiber to pass all of TÜV's demanding tests.

From radial and side impact tests (simulating passing through potholes and pavement roads), to biaxial stress tests and over-inflated tires, going through strength tests beyond the permitted limits.

Bentley claims that these carbon fiber wheels have a better performance compared to aluminum wheels, whether in safety, agility in changes of direction, in braking or even in tire wear, which is lower.

We still don't know how much they will cost, but they will be available for ordering later in the year on the Mulliner website.
