Forget Bentayga. This is the Bentley Continental GT "offroad"

It's not montage. This Bentley Continental GT is real and has been modified for use off tarmac. Not only is it real, it's currently on sale in the Netherlands through Classic Youngtimers, but at no price.

This Bentley Continental GT was delivered to Bentley Paris, France in 2004 and features 85,166 km on the odometer. Equipped with a 6.0 W12 twin-turbo — the only engine available at the time, but which remains in the new generation —, it is capable of 560 hp at 6100 rpm and 650 Nm of torque available between 1600 and practically 6100 rpm.

The transmission is permanent to four wheels, carried out through a six-speed automatic transmission. Despite the nearly 2.5 tonnes in weight (of the original car), the Continental GT has always been a fast car: 4.8s was enough to reach 100 km/h and I could reach 318 km/h of top speed.

Wheels grew: 285 offroad tires and 20" wheels

It should be called… Transcontinental

Values that should not be reached by this Continental GT, given the changes it underwent to get off the asphalt. The most obvious change is the 76 mm high ground clearance , which forced to change the air suspension and the stabilizer bars.

The wheels also stand out for their dimensions: they are 20″, accompanied by 285 tires, specific for off-road. To “fit them in”, the front and rear fenders had to be changed, both on the outside and on the inside, which also forced several components to be moved in place, from radiators to various tanks.

The roof received a specific design support, where the spare wheel fits, and in front, still on the roof, a bar with four Hella LED lights. The rear also gained a protection plate and optical protections.

They also indicate that the exhaust has been altered, to make a better sound and release some more horses, although they do not announce what gains were obtained. Visually, it is finished with parts painted in black, such as the mirror covers and the front grille.

Leather-lined interior.

Regardless of the reasons behind this creation — the costly transformation was carried out by the Classic Youngtimers themselves — this Bentley Continental GT really looks set to traverse continents. And with the bonus of being far more appealing than the Bentley Bentayga, the brand's first SUV.
