Bentley Bentayga needs more variants. Who says it is the brand itself

The Bentley Bentayga could win a Coupé version or a sportier version in the future. But first, the British SUV is getting ready to receive an update as early as 2019.

The SUV segment does not let up. With the sales boom, competition was increasing proportionally, which means that regardless of the success achieved, no brand can rest "in the shade of the banana tree". Not even Bentley with its self-styled "World's Fastest SUV", the Bentayga.

According to Wolfgang Dürheimer, Bentley CEO, the success of the Bentayga has led some brands to bet more on this luxury segment. The difference with future rivals – Audi Q8, BMW X7, Lamborghini Urus or Rolls-Royce Cullinan – will be made through different bodies or more powerful versions:

“We will have a large number of competitors in this segment in the future […] Variants are important to us because we always have to offer the latest product. Customers in this segment want the latest design on the market.”

For now, there are several models on the table, but the decision has not yet been made. THE Bentayga Coupe (in the images) and a sportier bentayga they will be the main candidates to reach the production lines.

The current Bentley Bentayga is powered by a 6-liter twin-turbo W12 block with 608 hp, 900 Nm, four-wheel drive and eight-speed automatic transmission. THE sprint up to 100km/h is done in 4.1 seconds and the top speed reaches 300km/h.

Regardless of the chosen variant, the new model should arrive after the facelift in 2019. Word from Wolfgang Dürheimer. Long before that, this summer, we'll meet the successor to the Continental GT.
