Since it was released, the Lamborghini Urus It has established itself as the brand's best-selling model and has just reached an important milestone: unit no. 15,000 has already left the assembly line.
Introduced in 2018, the Italian brand's “Super SUV” (as the brand calls it) has been one of its biggest sources of income, with its annual sales figures surpassing the combined sale of the two supersports from Sant'Agata Bolognese: the Huracán and the Aventador.
In three years of commercialization, the Urus's success translates into the record for best-selling model in the shortest time in Lamborghini history, now reaching the 15,000-unit mark.
To understand how positive these values are for the brand, the Lamborghini Gallardo, to which the Huracán is the successor, sold 14 022 units, but in 10 years of commercialization.
Despite the Urus' success, it's still not the best-selling Lamborghini of all time. This title still belongs to Huracán, but we believe it will be for a short time.
Urus EVO
There is no time for big celebrations. We recently showed spy photos of the Lamborghini Urus EVO, the next evolution of the “Super SUV”, which should be known in 2022.
A renovation that should allow the Urus to maintain its strong commercial performance and that will make it, without a doubt, Lamborghini's best-selling model in its entire history.
Currently, the Lamborghini Urus is equipped with a 4.0 liter V8 twin-turbo engine, capable of delivering 650 hp and 850 Nm of torque, delivered to all four wheels by an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox. It manages to reach 100 km/h in just 3.6s and reaches 305 km/h of top speed.
Numbers that guaranteed it, when it was launched, the title of fastest SUV in the world and one of the fastest SUVs on the Nürburgring (with a time of 7min47s).
However, the evolution in the automobile industry is relentless. The Bentley Bentayga Speed (W12 and 635 hp) beat Urus' top speed by 1 km/h, reaching 306 km/h, while in “green hell”, we recently saw the Porsche Cayenne GT Turbo become the fastest SUV with a time of 7min38.9s.
Will Urus EVO be able to place itself at the top of the hierarchy again?
