Geneva receives the F8 Tribute, the most powerful of the Ferrari V8s

Anonim

A little more than four years after its launch, the Ferrari 488 GTB became aware of its successor. Designated F8 Tribute , the truth is that the new model that Ferrari unveiled at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show looks more like a deep restyling of the 488 GTB than a 100% new model.

Under the hood we find the same engine 488 Pista twin-turbo V8 with 3902 cm3 of capacity, 720 hp (reached at a very high 8000 rpm) and 770 Nm at 3250 rpm . With these numbers available, no wonder the F8 Tributo achieves 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9s , from 0 to 200 km/h in 7.8s and reach 340 km/h top speed.

In addition to gaining 50 hp compared to the 488 GTB it replaces, the F8 Tributo was also lighter, now weighing 1330 kg dry (when equipped with the "diet" options available), ie, 40 kg less than the model it replaces.

Aerodynamics has not been forgotten

To achieve 10% gains in aerodynamic efficiency (according to Ferrari) compared to its predecessor, the F8 Tributo has new air intakes for brake cooling, a new “S” duct at the front (which helps increasing the downforce by 15% compared to the 488 GTB) and even new air intakes for the engine on each side of the rear spoiler.

Also in aesthetic terms, the engine cover aims to pay homage to the iconic F40 . Equipping the new F8 Tributo we find driving and steering assistance systems such as the Side Slip Angle Control and the Ferrari Dynamic Enhancer.
