Cold Start. Porsche Taycan Runs a Marathon Walking Sideways

Anonim

Although we all like to ride sideways with any car, do it for as long as the Porsche Taycan it did, giving him the record for the longest drift in a 100% electric car, we thought it would be tiring.

After all, this rear-wheel-drive Taycan set a record for having covered a distance equivalent to a marathon, but in drift, that is, 42.171 km. To achieve this it took about 55 minutes, which gives an average speed of 46 km/h.

The outburst of Dennis Retera, an instructor at Porsche, who set the record, is enlightening: “it was very tiring”. Also because despite the fact that the surface was kept wet during the record, this was not consistent in its levels of grip, forcing a high concentration on the part of the driver — we can only boast about his patience and, of course, his competence.

The record was set at the Porsche Experience Center on the Hockenheimring, where Porsche's first tram continuously looped around the 200 m drift circle — 210 laps to be precise. The record was certified by Guinness World Records.

Despite the excellent result achieved by Taycan, it is still far from the longest absolute drift. Remember him:
